As we move into the new year we are all focusing on what we want to accomplish this year, so this month we will be discussing purpose and planning.
But before we get into developing and implementing a plan, if you haven’t already done so, we need to talk about how to discover your purpose.
A CorePowered Plan is Purpose-Driven
When we develop a CorePowered Plan it is going to be purpose-driven. All of the objectives and goals that we set for ourselves and our business are in support of our Purpose.
As I discuss the topic of purpose with women, I discovered that a lot of women are confused about the difference between passion & purpose. I know I was. So let’s talk about the two.
Passion is Your Fuel
Passion is your fuel. Your passions are the spice of life. They get your creative juices going. You probably have a number of passions and they change over time as you change.
Purpose is Your Motivation
Your purpose is your motivation. It’s what get’s you up out of bed every morning whether things are going right or not. You don’t get up and do it because it sounds like a fun thing to do today, you get up and do it through good times and tough times because you know it’s what you are here to do. Your Purpose is your Why.
So you can see why it’s so important that when we plan, we want our plan to be purpose-driven because our passions may change but our purpose doesn’t. How we manifest our purpose may change, but not the purpose itself.
Our passion and purpose is deeply connected though, in fact when we look next week about how to discover your purpose, you’ll see that your passions are an important part of this discovery and they, along with the other elements of your Core, form a common thread that helps to lead us towards the discovery of your purpose.
So I’m going to give you a little homework. What I want you to do before next week is to list your top 3-5 passions. Then I want you to prioritize them.
We will use them next week as we continue our discussion on Purpose and Planning and focus on how to discover your purpose. I know that this topic causes a lot of angst, especially for women like us that want to make a difference, but I’ll share with you a secret that will put you at ease and help you to gracefully explore and feel comfortable with the discovery process.
Until then, make sure you create and prioritize your list of your top 3-5 passions and share this with a friend so you can work on this together.
See you next week and remember true wealth is created from within!
